Toda nuestra comunidad está más segura cuando todos los residentes, sin importar su estatus migratorio, se sienten seguros al reportar delitos a la policía o llamando al 911 en caso de emergencia. Lamentablemente, muchas personas inmigrantes a menudo sienten temor al interactuar con agencias del gobierno estatal y local, por miedo a que esto pueda resultar en una interacción con Inmigración (ICE). Our entire community is safer when all residents, regardless of immigration status, feel safe reporting crimes to law enforcement or calling 911 in case of emergencies. Unfortunately, many members of the immigrant community often feel unsafe interacting with state and local government agencies for fear that this will lead to an interaction with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). The New York for All Act would help build trust between local law enforcement and New York’s immigrant communities by prohibiting state and local law enforcement from enforcing federal immigration laws without a judicial warrant. To truly build a safer New York, we need trust between our communities and local officials; we must pass New York For All.
